The third god in the Hindu trinity is Shiva. He should be the worse one since he is in charge of destroying everything, whereas Brahma and Vishnu are in charge of creation and preservation, respectively. Shiva, however, is just as beloved by humans as Vishnu. He strikes love and affection into the hearts of the righteous while striking terror into the hearts of the wicked. Lord Shiva answered the pleas of his devotees from his snow-covered home atop Mount Kailasa. To make sure that only the worthy recipients of his favours, he frequently travelled around invisibly. And so it came about that he engaged in combat with the fearless Pandava Arjuna and went fishing with common fishermen.
