Although some see the BBC as the voice of the country, others believe that it has never been more obvious that the BBC is controlled by an ideology that precludes it from reporting honestly on the rest of the world. Many have found its pessimism on Brexit and one-sided portrayal of the Trump administration scandalous, while others finding its fury over "fake news" amusing.
Robin Aitken, who spent 25 years as a reporter and executive for the BBC, contends that the Corporation has to be reminded that what is "false" really relies on the perspective of the viewer. From where he stands, the BBC's own reporting on events frequently appears distinctly odd, full of distortions, omissions, and amplifications designed to further its own liberal agenda.
