On the surface, Jocelyn Butler appears to be living a successful and independent life in Scotland, having left her tragic past behind in the United States. However, her past trauma and emotional scars still haunt her, leading her to avoid forming any meaningful attachments to people. But when Jocelyn moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street, she meets the charismatic and persistent Braden Carmichael, who is immediately drawn to her.

Braden is not used to being denied anything he desires, and he sets his sights on Jocelyn. However, he quickly realizes that she is not interested in a traditional relationship due to her fear of intimacy and commitment. In an attempt to win her over, Braden proposes an arrangement that would allow them to satisfy their physical attraction to each other without any emotional involvement.

Initially, Jocelyn is hesitant to accept Braden's proposal but eventually agrees. However, as their passionate encounters continue, Braden begins to break through Jocelyn's emotional barriers, leaving her with mixed feelings. While Jocelyn is attracted to Braden and enjoys the physical aspect of their arrangement, she is also afraid of the possibility of being hurt and vulnerable in a relationship.

As Jocelyn and Braden's relationship deepens, Braden becomes increasingly determined to uncover the truth about Jocelyn's past and help her heal from her emotional wounds. However, Jocelyn must come to terms with her past and confront her fears if she is to embrace the possibility of a real relationship with Braden.
