On the banks of the River Tigris in Iraq, the wife of an archaeologist is murdered. Amy Leatheran, a nurse, quickly realised that 'Lovely Louise,' the wife of renowned archaeologist Dr. Leidner, was involved in something sinister happening at the Hassanieh dig. But she was unable to place it. Hercule Poirot was scheduled to visit the excavation site in a few days. Poirot might already be too late with Louise having horrific hallucinations and the strain in the group virtually unbearable.
