The Yale Anthology of Twentieth-Century French Poetry
There hasn't been a large and well-read anthology of contemporary French poetry in the English-speaking world since Paul Auster's The Random House Book of 20th Century French Poetry (1984) came out. Here, for the first time, is an exhaustive bilingual portrayal of French poetry's achievements in the 20th century, from Guillaume Apollinaire's turn-of-the-century verse to Samuel Beckett's high modernist works through writer Michel Houellebecq's contemporary poems.
