Instructions for Bird Banding
The Waterfowl Flyways of North America, excerpt There doesn't need to be any more evidence to demonstrate that the conditions for waterfowl in any one specific place cannot be used as a standard for the entire continent. In light of this, it becomes of greater than passing importance to review the information gathered by the Biological Survey during the spring and summer of 1934 from all sources and to relate it to the various flyways on which it was conducted. Table 1 compares the current season to the same period in 1933. Since it was widely acknowledged that season was well below average, the reports of no change might legitimately be attributed to the heading drop.
