The Forms of Hebrew Poetry
The classifications presented by Lowth in his "Lectures on the Sacred Poetry of the Hebrews" were improved by Gray. Gray created clever readings of texts that were previously thought to be corrupt and readable only with significant emendations. These texts could be understood logically without emendation because to the laws Gray deduced about Semitic poetry.
