The Quran In All Language
The Quran, sometimes romanized as Quran or Koran, is Islam's major religious text, which Muslims believe is a revelation from God (Allah). It is usually considered to be the greatest work of classical Arabic literature. It is divided into 114 chapters, each of which contains verses. Muslims believe that God orally revealed the Quran to the final prophet, Muhammad, through the archangel Gabriel (Jibril) during a 23-year period, beginning in the month of Ramadan, when Muhammad was 40, and ending in the year of his death, 632. The Quran is considered by Muslims to be Muhammad's most important miracle, since it provides proof of his prophethood and the culmination of a series of divine teachings that began with those given to Adam and include the Tawrah, the Zabur (Psalms), and the Injil. In the text itself, the word Quran appears 70 times.
